Michael Brown was raised in Stockton and attended California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. While working in the field of project management at a major utility company, Michael attended University of San Francisco School of Law. He became a licensed attorney in 2013 and has lived in Visalia for that past seven years.

Michael is a member of the Rotary Club of Visalia and has served on the Citizens Advisory Committee to the California Air Resources Board. Michael has also worked for eight years as an expert before the California Public Utilities Commission as an expert on electricity, natural gas, and water issues. Michael has also worked as a deputy district attorney. He and his wife have two daughters and he enjoys travel and soccer.
